WCAC Projects for 2012
The Drama group Atamaha Community Theatre will use the studio to follow through on the summer drama camp. ACT will be using the Studio on Tuesdays right after school until 6:30.

WCAC particpated in The Boys & Girls club "Day of Service" on MLK day 9-6 to help with some of their needs. We have been asked to adopt the art room. We can discuss further what that can entail and make a decision as a group.

We also think Giana's suggestion for a "Studio Tour" would be something to follow through on maybe this summer or fall.... we made a list of possible artist that have studios. The Tour of Studios could be fund-raiser for the WCAC to offer a scholarship or start a scholarship fund for a WCHS student planning to pursue a degree in the arts.

The last item we discussed is joining the Art Club for an art show at WCHS May 8th - during the spring concert. The show woul dbe open to the public before, during intermission, and after the concert. We will need to discuss the logistics and make plans.

ART COLLECTION at Wayne County Chamber of Commerce Board Room
This collection represents work created by local artists who are members of the Wayne County Arts Council. The collection changes each month to showcase the diversity and talent of our area. The Chamber requests art on display be for sale -which ties in with their economic goals for Wayne County. We are grateful for this opportunity to represent the best of our region.

Grassroots Arts Program GAP
The Grassroots Arts Program (GAP) provides funds to support art activities and encourage local collaborations between artists and arts organizations. Directed by the Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA), GAP receives its funding from appropriations through the Georgia General Assembly. Appointed by GCA, Golden Isles Arts & Humanities Association (GIAHA), serves as the re-granting agency for 11 of the 159 counties served by GAP.
